# Reassign a log stream

`POST /log-streams/{streamId}/reassign`

Move a log stream to a different connectionless log source in the same project. Preserves the stream's ID, intake key credential, and ingested data; rebinds the key's intake adapter to the target log source's provider so future data is processed as that provider's format.

- `streamId` string, uuid, required — Log stream ID to reassign.

  - `targetLogSourceId` string, uuid, required — Log source to move the log stream under. Must be a connectionless log source in the same project; the stream's key is rebound to this log source's intake adapter.

    - `logSourceId` string, uuid, required — Root log source ID. Every log stream roots on exactly one log source.
    - `displayName` string, nullable, required — Log stream name, assigned by the server at creation and immutable: the vendor object's name when the log source connection supplies one, a generated mnemonic otherwise, and the log source's own name for connectionless log streams. Null only on legacy log streams created before names became required.

    - `status` 'pending' | 'provisioning' | 'active' | 'error', required
    - `errorMessage` string, nullable, required
    - `enabled` boolean, required — Whether the log stream is currently ingesting. Independent of provisioning status: a paused log stream stays configured but stops accepting new data.
    - `provisionedVia` 'manual' | 'auto', required — How this log stream was created. "manual" for every user-initiated create (single add, select-all, API); "auto" only when the auto-provisioning scan created it because a new vendor object matched the log source's saved scope.
    - `createdAt` string, date-time, required
    - `endpointCards` object[] — Server-computed endpoint card(s) for this log stream's delivery key — where to point the sender. Present only for log streams that carry their own intake key.
      - `id` 'logs' | 'traces' | 'metrics' | 'listener' | 'endpoint', required — Stable identity for this card, computed by the platform. Address a card by this rather than by its position in the array or its label, both of which change for display reasons. `logs`/`traces`/`metrics` identify a signal-specific destination; `listener` is a non-keyed host+port; `endpoint` is the single keyed URL a source exposes when it does not split by signal. Unique within one log stream's cards.
      - `kind` 'url' | 'hostPort', required — Card shape. `url` = a complete keyed URL whose hostname authenticates; `hostPort` = a non-keyed listener host + port whose credential travels separately.
      - `label` string — Card label. Present when a log source exposes several endpoints (e.g. separate logs and traces destinations).
      - `url` string — The complete keyed intake URL. Present when kind is `url`.
      - `host` string — The regional listener hostname (no scheme). Present when kind is `hostPort`.
      - `port` integer — The listener port. Present when kind is `hostPort`.
      - `description` string — Vendor-specific guidance rendered under the value.
      - `extraCredential` object — The credential the sender must attach when the hostname alone does not authenticate. Present when kind is `hostPort`.
