# Switch SaveHQ between light and dark

`POST /api/v1/actions/set_appearance`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Set how SaveHQ looks for the user: "dark", "light", or "system" (match the device, light or dark as their phone or computer is set). It follows them to every device, from the next page they open in SaveHQ. Only they see it, so it needs no OK. get_board_overview shows the current choice.

Needs the person's OK: never.

## Request body

- object
  - `appearance` 'system' | 'light' | 'dark', required
  - `confirmToken` string: The confirmToken returned with this change's preview, once the user has agreed to it.

## Response `200`

Done (status "done", with summary and changeId), or nothing to change

  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `202`: Not done yet: needs the person's OK. Send the same request again with confirmToken.
- `400`: Something to fix in the request
- `401`: Missing, expired or revoked API key or token
- `429`: Over 60 requests a minute for this person; retry after 60 seconds
