# Launch an app on device

`POST /sessions/{sessionId}/device/launchApp`

Launches an installed app on the device. For iOS, provide the bundleId (e.g., 'com.apple.mobilesafari').
For Android, provide the packageName and optionally the activityName for the main activity.
The app must already be installed on the device — use installApp first if needed.

## Path parameters

- `sessionId` string, required

## Request body

- object: Requires either a 'bundleId' for iOS or a 'packageName' for Android, but not both.
  - `bundleId` string: Bundle identifier (iOS)
  - `packageName` string: Package Name of app to launch (Android)
  - `activityName` string: Main Activity Name of app to launch (Android)

## Response `204`

App launched successfully

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad Request
- `404`: Not Found
