# Destroy a sandbox

`DELETE /sandboxes/{id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://sandbox-as-a-service.com/v1`
- URL: `https://sandbox-as-a-service.com/v1/sandboxes/{id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Destroys the sandbox and stops billing for it. Data inside the sandbox is lost.

## Response `200`

Sandbox destroyed.

## Other responses

- `202`: Teardown accepted and completing in the background.
- `401`: Missing or invalid API key.
- `404`: No sandbox with that id for this account.
