# Put driver coach assignments.

`PUT /coaching/driver-coach-assignments`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.samsara.com`
- URL: `https://api.samsara.com/coaching/driver-coach-assignments`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

This endpoint will update an existing or create a new coach-to-driver assignment for your organization based on the parameters passed in. This endpoint should only be used for existing Coach to Driver assignments. In order to remove a driver-coach-assignment for a given driver, set coachId to null

 <b>Rate limit:</b> 10 requests/sec (learn more about rate limits <a href="https://developers.samsara.com/docs/rate-limits" target="_blank">here</a>).

OK response.

- DriverCoachAssignmentsPutDriverCoachAssignmentResponseBody
  - `data` CoachAssignmentWithoutDriverExternalIdsResponseResponseBody, required: Driver coach assignment object.
    - `coachId` string: Coach ID associated with coach assignment. Optional. Will be empty if no driver coach is assigned
    - `createdAtTime` string, date-time, required: Time coach assignment was created in UTC. Always returned.
    - `driverId` string, required: Unique user ID for the driver of the driver coach assignment
    - `updatedAtTime` string, date-time, required: Time coaching assignment was updated in UTC. Always returned.

- `401`: Unauthorized response.
- `404`: Not Found response.
- `405`: Method Not Allowed response.
- `413`: Content Too Large response.
- `429`: Too Many Requests response.
- `500`: Internal Server Error response.
- `501`: Not Implemented response.
- `502`: Bad Gateway response.
- `503`: Service Unavailable response.
- `504`: Gateway Timeout response.
- `default`: Bad Request response.
