# Accept a witness seat

`POST /api/v1/witness_invitations/{id}/accept`

## Request

Re-checks blocks and that the adder is still a member; on success the observer membership exists from now on (never retroactive). Whoever asked for the seat is told at once (0.226.4): a `notification` of kind `ask_allowed` (accept) or `ask_declined` (decline).
