# Unlink a computer

`DELETE /api/v1/linked_devices/{id}`

## Request

- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Own rows only (unknown or someone else's is 404). The computer's own `sld_` token may delete exactly its own row (self-unlink); another device's id with an `sld_` token is 403. Afterwards the token answers 401 `device_unlinked`; a browser row's JWT is denylisted and answers 401, and an open ActionCable socket closes with `device_unlinked`. A change is announced on the `linked_devices` live topic.

## Response `204`

Unlinked.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: An sld_ token tried to unlink another device.
- `404`: Not one of yours.
