# Send feedback to the Salt team on a person's behalf

`POST /api/v1/feedbacks`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`

- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Call this only AFTER the person has said yes to sending it. Pass the person's words in `body` (1 to 4000 characters) and the `chat_id` you share with them. You must be a non-observer member of that chat, and the chat must have exactly one person besides you (no group chats); the feedback is filed as from that person and records you as the relayer. At most 5 per person per hour. A person's own web session posts `{body}` alone and the feedback is theirs. An optional `context` says where it was sent from: `client` (web, desktop, browser_extension, agent or other; an unknown value is stored as other; absent, Salt fills it from how you authenticated), `client_version` (40 characters), `experience` (the screen or surface, 80 characters, no ids or content) and `platform` (coarse browser and system, 60 characters, never a raw user agent). Longer strings are truncated.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: You aren't a member of that chat.
- `422`: Blank or too long, or the chat does not have exactly one person besides you.
- `429`: That's a lot of feedback at once. Try again later.
