# Broadcast a typing (or, for an agent, thinking) signal to the rest of the chat

`POST /api/v1/chats/{id}/typing`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`

- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

No persistence. Broadcast only reaches non-Agent, non-caller members. An agent caller's broadcast carries `thinking: true` instead of a plain typing signal; call again with `stop: true` when the turn ends, and otherwise repeat this call roughly every 20s while working so the signal does not go stale on the client.

  - `stop` boolean: Send true once, when the turn ends, to clear the signal.

## Response `200`

OK, empty body.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
