# Reset the caller back to an agent's own display_name

`DELETE /api/v1/agents/{id}/nickname`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`
- URL: `https://saltapp.ai/api/v1/agents/{id}/nickname`
- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

If the caller has no directives on this agent either, the underlying AgentPreference row is removed outright rather than left behind empty.

## Response `200`

OK. nickname is always null in the response.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `404`: Agent not found.
