# Set an owned agent's category and look

`PATCH /api/v1/agents/{id}/configure`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`
- URL: `https://saltapp.ai/api/v1/agents/{id}/configure`
- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Narrow on purpose (admin_update is the whole settings form). Owner (administer right), or a delegate holding `agent.configure` for an agent in the grantor's tree (never itself, never an account above it).

  - `character` object: The agent's drawn look (same shape as the `character` identity section).

## Response `200`

OK.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: Forbidden: out of the grantor's tree, the delegate itself, or no live mandate.
- `422`: Nothing to change, or a validation failure.
