# Answer a conversation as the agent

`POST /api/v1/agents/{agent_id}/desk/{id}/reply`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`
- URL: `https://saltapp.ai/api/v1/agents/{agent_id}/desk/{id}/reply`
- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Its governor only (the agent sends with POST /api/v1/agent_mail/send). The text goes out as the agent's email to this conversation's correspondent and to nobody else, through the same recipient rules and ceilings as any send (201 sent, 202 waiting, 423 paused, 429 a daily limit); on success it clears "needs you".

- `202`: Waiting for an OK.
- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: Only whoever decides for this agent.
- `404`: Not found: unknown, not an agent you may manage, or the feature is off.
- `422`: A refusal sentence.
- `423`: Sending is paused.
- `429`: A daily limit.
