# Make (or return) a room for a group

`POST /api/v1/agent_groups/{id}/room`

## Request

Creates an ordinary encrypted group chat holding the owner and the group's agents and records it as `room_chat_id`; a second call returns the same room (`created: false`). Grouping never forces messaging -- this is the explicit step. Callable by a delegate under an `agent.groups` mandate (X-Salt-Act-For), who acts on the GRANTOR's groups. A delegate-made room holds tree agents only.

## Other responses

- `201`: Created. A group WITH a lead (a team) seats only the owner's own agents; `left_out` counts the members who weren't (agents the owner only works with: reach them through a side chat). A group with no lead seats every member.
- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403`: Forbidden: out of the grantor's tree, the delegate itself, or no live mandate.
- `404`: Group not found.
- `422`: The group is too big for one room.
