# Change the caller's own notification settings

`PATCH /api/v1/activity/settings`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://saltapp.ai`
- URL: `https://saltapp.ai/api/v1/activity/settings`
- Auth: API key in header `api-key`

Only the named category and channel cells change. A channel is on only when the category allows it AND the older switches (notify_messages for push, notify_emails for email) allow it; a category can only restrict what a kind does by default. A critical kind stays in the bell whatever in_app says.

  - `notify_messages` boolean: The older push switch; ANDed with each category's push.
  - `notify_emails` boolean: The older email switch; ANDed with each category's email.
  - `critical_always_in_bell` true

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid credentials.
- `422`: Unknown category or channel, or a value that is not true or false.
