# Update room (partial)

`PATCH /rooms/{key}`

Update room fields

## Path parameters

- `key` string, required

## Request body

- object — Update specified room fields
  - `name` string — Name of the room
  - `active` boolean — If the room is active
  - `type` string — Id of roomType
  - `owner` string — The name of the user to assign as the owner. Defaults to the user that created it

## Response `200`

Updated field

- RoomResponse — A response for information about a room
  - `id` integer — The room number of the specified room
  - `name` string — The unique readable name for the room
  - `active` boolean — Flag for whether the room is still active or closed
  - `type` string — The roomType being used in the specified room
  - `createdBy` string — Id of the User who created this room.
  - `origin` string — Tracks where refocus room was created from

## Other responses

- `400` — Bad Request
- `401` — Authentication Error
- `403` — Forbidden
- `default` — Error
