# List the steps of a Runway release

`GET /app/{appId}/release/{releaseId}/steps`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.runway.team`
- URL: `https://api.runway.team/app/{appId}/release/{releaseId}/steps`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Returns a lightweight list of all steps for a release. Use the returned `id` and `stepArchetype` values to look up full details via the single step endpoint.

A list of steps for a release

- StepEntity[]
  - `id` string, required: The identifier of the step
  - `stepConfigId` string, required: The identifier of the step config this step was created from
  - `stepArchetype` 'kickoff' | 'featureReadiness' | 'releaseCandidate' | 'regressionTesting' | 'betaTesting' | 'metadata' | 'screenshots' | 'approvals' | 'submission' | 'storeReview' | 'takeoff' | 'ciDistribution', required: The type of release step
  - `displayName` string, required: The display name of the step
  - `status` 'ready' | 'pending' | 'pendingChecklist' | 'blocked' | 'inactive', required: The status of a release step
  - `statusReasonString` string, required: The user-friendly description of the reason for the status of the step
