# Update lifecycle freezes

`PUT /app/{appId}/lifecycleFreezes`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.runway.team`
- URL: `https://api.runway.team/app/{appId}/lifecycleFreezes`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Replaces only the app's lifecycle freeze periods. This does not change the app's release schedule cadence, but it may move release target dates that fall inside a freeze. Requires the API key to have the UpdateScheduleCadence user action.

- `appId` string, required

## Request body

- UpdateLifecycleFreezesRequestBody
  - `lifecycleFreezes` LifecycleFreezeSetInput[], required: Replacement lifecycle freeze list. Pass an empty array to clear all lifecycle freezes.
    - `startDate` string, date, required: The first date included in the freeze period, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD. Interpreted in the app's schedule cadence timezone.
    - `endDate` string, date, required: The last date included in the freeze period, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD. Interpreted in the app's schedule cadence timezone.
    - `affectedEvents` string[], required: Release lifecycle events to freeze during this date range.

## Response `200`

Updated lifecycle freeze periods configured for an app

- LifecycleFreezeSetEntity[]
  - `startDate` string, date, required: The first date included in the freeze period, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD.
  - `endDate` string, date, required: The last date included in the freeze period, formatted as YYYY-MM-DD.
  - `timezone` string, required: IANA timezone name used to interpret the freeze dates.
  - `affectedEvents` string[], required: Release lifecycle events frozen during this date range.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request response
- `403`: The API key does not have permission to perform this action
- `404`: Resource not found response
