# Upload app icon

`POST /app/{appId}/icon`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.runway.team`
- URL: `https://api.runway.team/app/{appId}/icon`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Upload and set the app icon. For teams using config-as-code who don't have their app icons hosted publicly, this endpoint allows uploading an icon file directly. The icon will be stored and the URL can be used in the `icon` field of your app config YAML. Accepts multipart/form-data with a PNG or JPEG image (max 10MB).

## Path parameters

- `appId` string, required

## Request body `multipart/form-data`

- object
  - `icon` string, binary: The app icon image (PNG or JPEG)
  - `file` string, binary: Alternative field name for the icon image

## Response `200`

The icon was successfully uploaded

- object
  - `iconUrl` string: The URL of the uploaded icon. Use this URL in the `icon` field of your app config YAML.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request response
- `403`: The API key does not have permission to perform this action
- `404`: Resource not found response
