# Open a short-lived Cloud Agent computer session

`POST /v2/agents/{agent_id}/computer-sessions`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.runta.com`
- URL: `https://api.runta.com/v2/agents/{agent_id}/computer-sessions`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Enables the Agent runtime's VNC desktop if necessary. Waits for readiness, then returns a temporary Runta browser session. Long-lived API credentials stay outside the renderer. Clients pass the returned protocols only to the VNC WebSocket handshake.

## Response `200`

Ready computer session.

  - `agent_id` string, required
  - `runtime_id` string, required
  - `expires_at` string, date-time, required
  - `channels` CloudAgentComputerSessionChannels, required: Transports that this Runta session authorizes. VNC is available now. Additional computer-use transports can use the same session envelope.
    - `vnc` CloudAgentVncSessionChannel, required
      - `websocket_url` string, uri, required
      - `protocols` string[], required

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing, malformed, or rejected bearer token
- `403`: The bearer token is not allowed to perform this action
- `404`: The requested resource was not found
- `409`: The request conflicts with current resource state
- `422`: Validation or application error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `501`: Operation is not implemented
- `503`: Upstream service is unavailable
- `504`: Upstream request timed out
- `default`: Error response
