# Release a subdomain

`DELETE /subdomains/v1/{name}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.run402.com`
- URL: `https://api.run402.com/subdomains/v1/{name}`
- Auth: one of:
  - HTTP bearer
  - API key in header `x-admin-key`

Releases a subdomain. Accepts service_key or admin auth (ADMIN_KEY or admin wallet SIWx). Lifecycle-gated for non-admin callers on non-active projects.

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication. Run402-originated JSON bodies use the canonical ErrorEnvelope.
