# Delete a manual project snapshot

`DELETE /projects/v1/{project_id}/snapshots/{snapshot_id}`

## Request

  - API key in header `SIGN-IN-WITH-X`
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Deletes a snapshot and releases its CAS references. In-use snapshots return SNAPSHOT_IN_USE. Also accepts the project's own service key (`serviceKey`), scoped to that project: a key for another project is refused 403 for every id, and a service key plus a SIWX header is refused 400 `AUTH_CREDENTIALS_AMBIGUOUS`. A service key may delete only `manual` snapshots (403 SNAPSHOT_KIND_NOT_DELETABLE_BY_SERVICE_KEY otherwise).

## Path parameters

- `project_id` string, required: Run402 project ID. Public IDs are not UUIDs.
- `snapshot_id` string, required

## Response `204`

Deleted.

## Other responses

- `403`: SNAPSHOT_KIND_NOT_DELETABLE_BY_SERVICE_KEY, or not authorized.
- `404`: Snapshot not found in this project scope.
- `409`: SNAPSHOT_IN_USE.
