# Create passkey registration options

`POST /auth/v1/passkeys/register/options`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.run402.com`
- URL: `https://api.run402.com/auth/v1/passkeys/register/options`
- Auth: API key in header `apikey` and HTTP bearer

Creates a WebAuthn registration challenge for the authenticated user at the supplied app_origin.

## Request body

- object
  - `app_origin` string, uri, required: Exact allowed app origin for the WebAuthn ceremony.

## Response `200`

Registration options

- PasskeyOptionsResponse
  - `challenge_id` string, uuid, required
  - `options` object, required: Opaque WebAuthn PublicKeyCredentialCreationOptions or PublicKeyCredentialRequestOptions JSON returned by @simplewebauthn/server.

## Other responses

- `400`: Invalid app_origin
- `401`: Missing or invalid authentication. Run402-originated JSON bodies use the canonical ErrorEnvelope.
- `403`: Recent passkey auth required for admin passkey mutation
- `429`: Rate limited
