# List trackable tools for technographic signals

`GET /api/v1/signals/technographic-tools`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rodz.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.rodz.io/api/v1/signals/technographic-tools`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Discover which software you can build a technographic signal around, and get the exact identifier to send when you create one — so an integration can configure these signals end-to-end without a human copying names out of the UI.

**Input:** `search` (substring match on tool name or category, optional), `category` (restrict to one category, optional), and `limit` (1-200, default 50).

**Output:** `tools[]`, each with `name`, `vendorName` (the exact string to pass as `trackedTool`), `category` (pass as `trackedCategory` to watch every tool in it), `upperCategory`, `url`, and `supportsDisplacement`.

Feeds `trackedTool` / `trackedCategory` on **Tech Adoption**, **AI Adoption**, **Tech Displacement** and **Competitor Customers**. Only create a Tech Displacement signal for a tool whose `supportsDisplacement` is `true`. This endpoint is free and consumes no credits.

## Query parameters

- `search` string: Substring match on tool name or category.
- `category` string: Restrict to a single category, e.g. `crm`.
- `limit` integer: Maximum tools to return.

## Response `200`

Successful Response

- object
  - `tools` object[], required: Matching tools.
    - `name` string, required: Display name of the tool, e.g. `HubSpot`.
    - `vendorName` string, required: The exact value to send as `trackedTool` when creating a technographic signal. Always copy this verbatim — a near-miss like `Hubspot` matches nothing and the signal produces no leads.
    - `category` string, nullable: Tool category, e.g. `crm`. Send as `trackedCategory` to watch a whole category.
    - `upperCategory` string, nullable: Broader grouping, e.g. `Sales & Marketing`.
    - `url` string, nullable: The tool vendor's own website.
    - `supportsDisplacement` boolean: Whether churn away from this tool is tracked. `false` means a Tech Displacement signal on this tool can never fire — check this before creating one.

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` response header.
