# Look up LinkedIn industry IDs (deprecated — use /signals/industries)

`GET /api/v1/enrichment/linkedin-industries`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rodz.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)
- URL: `https://api.rodz.io/api/v1/enrichment/linkedin-industries`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

> **Deprecated.**

Find the LinkedIn industry ID for an industry name, so you can filter
company search by industry instead of guessing numeric codes.

`GET /api/v1/enrichment/company-search` takes `industryId`, but the IDs are not
guessable and appear nowhere in a company payload. This endpoint is the lookup:
search by name, take the `id`, pass it to company-search.

**Cost:** Free. No credits, no rate concerns — it is a static list.

**Call it with no parameters to get the complete taxonomy** (all 434 industries,
~90 KB). That is the intended way to build an integration: pull the vocabulary
once, store it, map your own categories onto the IDs. There is no pagination and
no default page size to trip over.

**Input:**
- `search` *(optional)* — an industry or sector name, e.g. `"software"`, `"banking"`,
`"Manufacturing"`. Case-insensitive. Matching also covers the hierarchy path, so a
sector name returns every industry beneath it.
- `limit` *(optional)* — cap the number of entries returned. Omit it and you get
  them all.

**Output** — `data` contains:
- `elements` — array, best match first (exact name, then prefix, then substring).
  Each has `id` (string — pass this as `industryId`), `name`, and `path`
  (full hierarchy, parents first).
- `count` — how many entries are in `elements`.
- `total` — how many matched in total. It equals `count` unless you passed
`limit`, so `total > count` is the only signal that you truncated the list.

**Example:** `?search=software` returns `id: "4"` for `Software Development`; then
`GET /api/v1/enrichment/company-search?industryId=4&keywords=crm` returns only
software-development companies. Pass several IDs comma-separated to widen the search.

## Query parameters

- `search` string, nullable: Industry or sector name to look up, e.g. "software", "banking". Omit it to return the complete taxonomy.
- `limit` integer, nullable: Optional cap on how many entries come back. Omit it to get them all.

## Response `200`

Matching industries.

- object: Typed response for the industry lookup endpoint.
  - `data` object, nullable: Industry lookup payload
    - `elements` object[], nullable: Matching industries, best match first
      - `id` string, nullable: LinkedIn industry ID — pass as a `industryId` value on company-search
      - `name` string, nullable: Industry name, e.g. "Software Development"
      - `path` string, nullable: Full position in the taxonomy, parents first, e.g. "Technology, Information and Media > Technology, Information and Internet > Software Development". A path with no `>` is one of the 20 top-level sectors.
    - `count` integer, nullable: How many entries are in `elements`
    - `total` integer, nullable: How many industries matched in total. Equal to `count` unless you passed `limit`, so `total > count` is the only way to know you truncated the list.
  - `requestId` string, nullable: Unique request identifier

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded. Retry after the number of seconds in the `Retry-After` response header.
