# Request a capability Rodz does not offer yet

`POST /api/v1/capability-requests`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rodz.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Tell Rodz about a capability the user asked for and Rodz does not offer yet: a signal type, a filter, a data field, an integration, an action. Built for AI assistants working through the Rodz MCP server: when no tool covers what the user asks for, this call records the request so the Rodz product team can build it. Free.

**Input:** `what` (required, 3-200 characters): the missing capability in one line, e.g. `A signal for companies opening a new office in Germany`; `why` (optional, up to 2,000 characters): what the user was trying to achieve. Names and email addresses are not needed and are removed if sent.

**Output:** `requestId`, `recorded` (`true`), `alreadyRequested` (`true` when the same capability had already been asked for: your request counts as a vote on it) and `message`, a sentence to relay to the user.

**Limits:** 20 requests per user per 24 hours (429 `RATE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED` beyond).

  - `what` string, required: The capability that was needed, in one line: a signal type, a filter, a data field, an integration or an action Rodz does not offer.
  - `why` string, nullable: Optional. What the user was trying to achieve, so the request can be judged on its use case. Leave out personal details: names and email addresses are not needed.

Successful Response

  - `requestId` string, required: The id of the request.
  - `recorded` boolean, required: Always `true` when the call succeeds.
  - `alreadyRequested` boolean, required: `true` when the same capability had already been asked for: your request was added to it as a vote.
  - `message` string, required: A sentence to relay to the user.

## Other responses

- `422`: Validation Error
- `429`: Too many requests from this user in 24 hours
