# Get Part Step

`GET /v1/designs/{design_id}/parts/{part_id}/step`

Redirect to a short-lived download of a part's STEP file.

## Path parameters

- `design_id` string, required
- `part_id` string, required

## Query parameters

- `view` 'source' | 'normalized' | 'flat' — `source` is the uploaded geometry; `normalized` is re-oriented into the frame used by the returned metadata; `flat` is the unfolded pattern.

## Other responses

- `307` — Successful Response
- `401` — Missing or invalid credentials.
- `403` — The credentials do not permit this operation.
- `404` — The resource does not exist or is not visible to the caller.
- `422` — Validation failed; see `error.param` and `error.details`.
- `429` — Rate limit exceeded; retry after the `Retry-After` header.
- `500` — Unexpected failure; safe to retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
