# Update builder metadata

`POST /v1/builders/metadata`

Updates a builder's display name, and its slug while that slug is still the auto-assigned `builder-<id>` placeholder. Authorised by a signature from the builder's on-chain `getBuilderInfo(builder_id).fee_recipient` — no gas is spent.

`name` is always editable. `slug` is set-once: once a real slug is stored, a request carrying a different slug is rejected; repeating the current slug is a no-op.

Nonce from `GET /v1/auth/nonce`, domain from `GET /v1/auth/eip712-domain`, same as RegisterBuilder.

## Request body

- ApiUpdateBuilderMetadataRequest: Request to update a builder's off-chain metadata.
  - `account` string: Account signing the request; must equal the builder's on-chain fee recipient.
  - `builder_id` integer: Builder to update (uint16).
  - `slug` string: Desired slug. Applied only while the stored slug is still the "builder-<id>" placeholder; otherwise it must repeat the stored slug or the request is rejected.
  - `name` string: Display name, 1-50 characters.
  - `nonce` string: One-time nonce from GET /v1/auth/nonce (hex).
  - `deadline` integer: Unix timestamp after which the signature is rejected.
  - `signature` string: EIP-712 UpdateBuilderMetadata signature; 64-byte compact or 65-byte, hex-encoded.

## Response `200`

A successful response.
