# Retrieve an account balance

`GET /accounts/{AccountId}/balances`

Get the balance of an account.

  - `Data` object, required: The balance details.
    - `Balance` OBCashBalance1[], required: A list of elements to define the balance details.
      - `AccountId` string, required: The unique and immutable ID to identify the account resource. This ID has no meaning to the account owner.
      - `CreditDebitIndicator` 'Credit' | 'Debit', required: Indicates whether the balance is a credit or a debit balance. :::note A zero balance is considered a credit balance. :::
      - `Type` 'ClosingAvailable' | 'ClosingBooked' | 'ClosingCleared' | 'Expected' | 'ForwardAvailable' | 'Information' | 'InterimAvailable' | 'InterimBooked' | 'InterimCleared' | 'OpeningAvailable' | 'OpeningBooked' | 'OpeningCleared' | 'PreviouslyClosedBooked', required: The balance type.
      - `DateTime` string, date-time, required: The date and time for the balance. All dates in the JSON payloads are represented in [ISO 8601](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601) date-time format. All date-time fields in responses must include the timezone. For example: `2017-04-05T10:43:07+00:00`.
      - `Amount` OBActiveOrHistoricCurrencyAndAmount, required: The amount of the cash balance after a transaction entry is applied to the account.
        - `Amount` string, required: The amount of money where the unit of currency is explicit and compliant with [ISO 4217](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217).
        - `Currency` string, required: [ISO 4217](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217) currency code in upper case.
      - `CreditLine` OBCreditLine1[]: A list of elements to provide details on the credit line.
        - `Included` boolean, required: Indicates whether the credit line is included in the balance of the account. :::note If set to `false`, credit line is not included in the account balance. :::
        - `Type` 'Available': The limit type.
        - `Amount` OBActiveOrHistoricCurrencyAndAmount: The amount of the cash balance after a transaction entry is applied to the account.
          - `Amount` string, required: The amount of money where the unit of currency is explicit and compliant with [ISO 4217](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217).
          - `Currency` string, required: [ISO 4217](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_4217) currency code in upper case.
  - `Links` Links, required: Links relevant to the payload.
    - `Self` string, uri, required: The absolute URI to the resource.
    - `Next` string, uri: The absolute URI to the next pagination resource.
    - `Prev` string, uri: The absolute URI to the previous pagination resource.
  - `Meta` Meta, required: Meta data relevant to the payload.
    - `TotalPages` integer: Used for pagination. Indicates how many pages of results are available.

## Other responses

- `400`: Bad request
- `401`: Unauthorized Returned, for instance, when the access token has expired or is invalid, for example, when the consent has been revoked, or when the consent lacks necessary permissions.
- `403`: Forbidden
- `405`: Method Not Allowed
- `406`: Not Acceptable
- `429`: Too Many Requests
- `500`: Internal Server Error
