# Suspend a team member

`POST /team-members/{team_member_id}/suspend`

## Request

- Auth: HTTP bearer

Suspend a specific team member, preventing them from accessing the business.

To restore access, use the [Unsuspend a team member](#unsuspend-a-team-member) operation.

You cannot suspend the business owner.

## Path parameters

- `team_member_id` string, uuid, required

## Response `204`

Team member was suspended.

## Other responses

- `401`: Unauthorized – authentication credentials are missing or invalid Returned when the request was not fulfilled because authentication has failed or has not been provided.
- `403`: Action forbidden - insufficient permissions to perform this action Returned, for example, when you don't have permissions necessary to perform this action.
- `404`: Not found Returned when the team member that you're trying to suspend doesn't exist.
- `422`: Unprocessable entity Returned when: - You're trying to suspend the business owner. - The team member has a pending invitation (they haven't accepted it yet).
- `default`: Unexpected error
