# Join Call

`POST /channels/{target}/join_call`

Asks the voice server for a token to join the call.

## Path parameters

- `target` string, required

## Request body

- DataJoinCall — Join a voice channel
  - `node` string, nullable — Name of the node to join
  - `force_disconnect` boolean, nullable — Whether to force disconnect any other existing voice connections Useful for disconnecting on another device and joining on a new.
  - `recipients` string[], nullable — Users which should be notified of the call starting Only used when the user is the first one connected.

## Response `200`

- CreateVoiceUserResponse — Voice server token response
  - `token` string, required — Token for authenticating with the voice server
  - `url` string, required — Url of the livekit server to connect to

## Other responses

- `default` — An error occurred.
