# Create a product property

`POST /api/product-properties`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.retraced.com` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Creates a property named `name` in `category` (e.g. `brands`, `departments`, `seasons`) for `companyId` — the caller's own company or one the caller is linked to, else 404 `invalid_company_id` (legacy accepted any company) — and queues its copy into the style properties. 409 `duplicated_product_property` when the company already has that name in that category. Answers 201 with the property as stored, in the `{ data, metadata }` envelope (legacy answered the bare record). Unknown body keys are ignored, as in legacy.
