# Edit one of the caller company's custom questions

`PUT /api/c2c-custom-questions/{id}`

## Request

Writes the given `title`, `hintText` and/or `apiFieldIdentifier` to one of the caller company's own live questions, stamping who changed it, and answers it as stored, with its options. An omitted key is left as stored; a null hint or identifier clears it. 404 `not_found` for an unknown or removed question, or another company's; 403 `default_question_cannot_be_modifies_by_non_admin` for a default question; 409 `api_field_identifier_is_already_in_use` when another of the company's live questions has the identifier — legacy meant to refuse that but never did. Legacy also took `isRemoved`, a second delete path next to `bulk-remove`; any key but these three is a 400. Legacy answered the bare question without its options; this answers `{ data, metadata }`.
