# Get Starter Answer

`POST /snapshots/{snapshot_id}/starter-answer`

The answer to this index's first starter question, on us.

Most accounts never ask a first question (19 of 33 paying accounts used no
AI in 60 days), so the completion panel and overview show one answer
without being asked. Cache-first like /answer: after the first call every
viewer reads the cached row for free. A miss is generated at platform cost,
never from credits or the free allowance, and only for someone who has the
repo in their library or team, so a stranger cannot spend on a public repo.
The question is chosen here, not taken from the body, so this is one fixed
answer per snapshot version, not a free-question endpoint.
