# Get Anon Answer

`POST /snapshots/{snapshot_id}/anon-answer`

/answer for a signed-out visitor on a public repo.

Public snapshots only (a private one 404s like any other read). Cache-first
and free on a hit, exactly as /answer. A miss takes one unit of the visitor's
daily allowance for this repo, their IP's, and the fleet's (migration 167),
and the platform pays: there is no account to bill. Keyed on `X-Anon-Id`, a
browser UUID, and the caller IP, which Railway's edge sets (a client
X-Forwarded-For does not move it; checked 2026-09-27).
