# Update a license field for a given appId and licenseFieldName.

`PUT /app/{app_id}/license-field/{license_field_name}`

## Request

Required RBAC Policy: kots/app/[:appid]/licensefields/update

- `license_field_name` string, required

## Request body

  - `default` string, required: Optional default value for this licensefield.
  - `enumOptions` string[]: Enum options for the entitlement field (only for Enum type).
  - `hidden` boolean, required: Indicates if this field will be visible from the on-premise license screen.
  - `required` boolean, required: Indicates if this field will be required from the on-premise license screen.
  - `title` string, required: Title of custom license field to display.

## Response `200`

EditLicenseFieldResponse contains the license fields

## Other responses

- `400`: Returned on bad input
- `401`: Return if the caller is not authorized
- `403`: Returned if the caller does not have the needed permission
- `404`: Returned on resource not found
