# Fund escrow for a bounty application or conversation offer from your wallet, or a hosted checkout link if it is short.

`POST /api/escrow/checkout`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://rentahuman.ai`
- URL: `https://rentahuman.ai/api/escrow/checkout`
- Auth: one of:
  - API key in header `X-API-Key`
  - HTTP bearer

When funding an application on a bounty with languageProficiencyRequirement, returns 409 error_code "language_proficiency_unsatisfied" before anything is charged if the applicant's current scored level does not meet the current threshold.

## Response `2XX`

Non-error responses include status: funded, requires_payment, or insufficient_funds. requires_payment includes checkoutUrl and legacy url, plus escrowId when the escrow already exists; insufficient_funds returns HTTP 402 with error and error_code.
