# Close this account and schedule its deletion

`POST /user/account/deletion`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://rendry.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://rendry.io/api/v1/user/account/deletion`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Closes the account at once: sign-in stops, every issued token stops, every API key is revoked, queued render jobs are failed and refunded, and the remaining credits are forfeited. The data itself is erased after the retention window (`retention_days`), and until then support can restore the account. Payment and credit-ledger records are kept as accounting records, anonymised. NOT AVAILABLE TO AGENTS — see the GET above.

## Headers

- `X-End-User` string
- `X-Rendry-Account` string

## Request body

- object
  - `password` string: The current password. Required when GET answered confirm_with=password.
  - `email` string: The account's own e-mail, typed back. Required when GET answered confirm_with=email (an account created through SSO has no password of its own).

## Response `200`

Closed. Returns closed_at, deletion_date, retention_days, credits_forfeited, keys_revoked.

## Other responses

- `400`: The body is not JSON
- `401`: Not signed in; `error` is `unauthorized`
- `403`: `error` is a machine code: `account_deletion_needs_session` (an API key or a connector token was used) or `account_deletion_not_confirmed` (the password or e-mail did not match — nothing was changed).
- `429`: More than 5 attempts a minute from one address
