# Fetch a rendered file, a preview or a stored asset

`GET /files/{path}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://rendry.io/api/v1`
- URL: `https://rendry.io/api/v1/files/{path}`
- Auth: one of:
  - none
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer
  - HTTP bearer

Every result, preview and asset URL passes through this API proxy. Historical render/template-preview links are public. New paid document attempt keys require the authenticated owning account, match its current completed attempt and are private/no-store; obsolete shared or attempt keys are refused. User assets require their owner or the renderer internal token. ?dl=<name> sets the download file name.

## Response `200`

The file (image/*, application/pdf or text/html)

## Other responses

- `400`: Not a valid file key
- `401`: A user asset asked for without the owner's key or session (`authentication required for user assets`)
- `403`: A user asset of another account (`access denied`)
- `404`: No such file
