# Delete project

`DELETE /projects/{projectId}`

Delete the project with the provided ID.

Requires _all_ of the project's environments to be empty (i.e., they must contain no services or other resources). Otherwise, deletion fails with a `409` response.

To delete a non-empty project, do one of the following:
- First move or delete all contained services and other resources.
- Delete the project in the [Render Dashboard](https://dashboard.render.com).

- `projectId` string, required

## Response `204`

Project deleted

## Other responses

- `400` — The request could not be understood by the server.
- `401` — Authorization information is missing or invalid.
- `404` — Unable to find the requested resource.
- `429` — Rate limit has been surpassed.
- `500` — An unexpected server error has occurred.
- `503` — Server currently unavailable.
