# Screen a crypto wallet address before sending to it

`POST /v1/wallet-risk`

## Request

Keyless and free. Detects the chain from the address and screens it against sanctions and abuse sources. Answers the question a person actually has before paying an address they were given, rather than after.

**Billing.** Free. This endpoint is not metered.

**Note.** No API key required, on the same terms as /v1/link-check.

## Request body

- object
  - `address` string, required: A wallet address. The chain is detected from the address format.
  - `source` string: Optional integration identifier.

## Response `200`

Success. `ok` is true and `data` holds the result.

    - `address` string: The address that was screened.
    - `chain` string: Detected chain.
    - `risk_level` 'CRITICAL' | 'HIGH' | 'MEDIUM' | 'LOW' | 'unknown': Severity, or `unknown` when nothing is known.
    - `risk_flags` string[]: Reasons the address was flagged.

## Other responses

- `405`: Wrong HTTP method. Every endpoint is POST.
