# Compare two revisions of a MOSFET datasheet

`POST /v1/datasheet/compare`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.relaex-engineers.de`
- URL: `https://api.relaex-engineers.de/v1/datasheet/compare`
- Auth: none declared

Compares two revisions of a discrete MOSFET datasheet.

**Validation:** 85 hand-read values from 5 real MOSFET datasheets (TI, Nexperia, Infineon,
Wolfspeed: 99 % found, 0 wrong values) and 5 real revision pairs without a false change; a real
pair with an actual value change has not been tested yet. Every response carries the warning
`VALIDATION_SCOPE`. IGBTs, modules, diodes and gate drivers are refused with `OUT_OF_SCOPE`.

**Input:** multipart `old_file` and `new_file` (or `old_file_url`, `new_file_url`): text-based
PDFs, each up to 20 MiB and 60 pages. Optional `options` as a JSON string following
`/v1/schemas/datasheet-compare-options`: `target_mpn` (exact part number for family sheets).

**Behaviour:** the ReLaEx engine (`relaex`, profile `mosfet_table_v1`) extracts VDS, ID, VGS,
RDS_ON, VTH, QG, RTH_JC and TJ_MAX from the datasheet tables with min/typ/max, units and test
conditions, pairs only identical contexts (same statistic, unit and conditions) and computes
deltas in canonical units. Changed conditions, one-sided values and unreadable rows are open
cases without deltas. Review priority rules `mosfet-risk-0.1` (R001–R009): heuristic, without
design context. Nothing is guessed; a missing value is never reported as removed.

**Output:** `ApiResponse` with the engine report (schema 0.2.0): documents (part number,
revision, date, SHA-256), observations with page, table, row, box and quote, findings (status,
delta, percent, quality, rule, actions), summary (coverage, counts, review priority, open cases,
limitations).

**Errors:** 400 `INVALID_PDF`, `ENCRYPTED_PDF`, `OCR_REQUIRED`; 413 `FILE_TOO_LARGE`,
`PAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED`; 422 `PART_MISMATCH`, `AMBIGUOUS_PART`, `INVALID_OPTIONS`; 429; 504.

**Languages:** responses are in English. Error, warning and rule codes are stable and
language-neutral; agents may translate messages for the user. Datasheet labels in English or German are recognised.

**Access:** open, rate-limited per IP and per MCP session; an `X-API-Key` header raises the
limit. Uploaded files are processed in memory and never stored. Also available as MCP tool
`datasheet_compare` at `/mcp` (Streamable HTTP).
