# Set Attribution

`POST /auth/attribution`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.reeldrop.io` (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

Persist the referral token captured pre-signup (localStorage / rd_ref or
rd_uref cookie, pushed by ReferralAttribution after sign-in).

First-touch wins and is server-enforced across both programs: once either
`referred_by_creator` or `referred_by_user_id` is set, neither is ever
overwritten. Replays and later clicks on other links are harmless no-ops
(204 either way — idempotent by design).
