# Create Connect cluster secret

`POST /v1/kafka-connect/clusters/{cluster_name}/secrets`

Create a Kafka Connect cluster secret.

## Path parameters

- `cluster_name` string, required

## Request body

- CreateKafkaConnectSecretBody — CreateKafkaConnectSecretRequest is the request of CreateKafkaConnectSecret.
  - `labels` object — Secret labels.
  - `name` string, required — Name of connector.
  - `secret_data` string, byte, required — The secret data. Must be Base64-encoded.

## Response `201`

Secret created

- GetKafkaConnectSecretResponse — GetKafkaConnectSecretResponse is the response of GetKafkaConnectSecret.
  - `secret` Secret — Defines the secret resource.
    - `id` string — Secret identifier.
    - `labels` object — Secret labels.
    - `scopes` Scope[]

- `401` — Unauthenticated.
- `500` — Internal Server Error. Reach out to support.
- `default` — An unexpected error response.
