# POST /v1/hosts/

`POST /v1/hosts/`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.redirectboss.com`
- URL: `https://api.redirectboss.com/v1/hosts/`
- Auth: API key in header `X-Api-Key`

Register a new host domain. A DNS check runs automatically after creation.

## Request body

- object
  - `host` string, hostname, required: The domain name to register (e.g. "example.com")
  - `handleWww` boolean: Also handle www subdomain traffic (e.g. www.example.com)

    - `id` string, uuid: Unique host identifier
    - `host` string, hostname: The domain name (e.g. "example.com")
    - `handleWww` boolean: Whether the www subdomain is also handled (e.g. www.example.com)
    - `isDnsResolving` boolean: Whether the apex domain DNS is resolving to our servers. Null if not yet checked.
    - `dnsLastCheckedAt` string, date-time: When DNS resolution was last verified. Null if not yet checked.
    - `sslEnabledAt` string, date-time: When SSL was enabled for the apex domain. Null if SSL is not enabled.
    - `wwwSslEnabledAt` string, date-time: When SSL was enabled for the www subdomain. Null if SSL is not enabled.
    - `wwwDnsResolving` boolean: Whether the www subdomain DNS is resolving to our servers. Null if not yet checked.
    - `createdAt` string, date-time: When the host was created
    - `updatedAt` string, date-time: When the host was last updated
  - `meta` object, required
    - `requestId` string: Unique identifier for this request
    - `status` 'completed' | 'queued' | 'partial_failure': Operation status
