# Opt out (for the person themselves)

`POST /v1/privacy/opt-out`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.recruitmcp.com`
- URL: `https://api.recruitmcp.com/v1/privacy/opt-out`
- Auth: none required

Anyone can ask to be removed. A confirmation link is emailed; once confirmed, the person is suppressed for every workspace.

No authentication.

## Request body

- object
  - `profile_url` string
  - `email` string
  - `contact_email` string: Where to send the confirmation link, when email is not given.

## Response `202`

Confirmation sent.

- OptOut
  - `id` string
  - `status` string
  - `message` string

## Other responses

- `400`: `invalid_request` (do not retry): A field is missing or has a value this endpoint does not accept. `unsupported_version` (do not retry): RecruitMCP-Version is not a supported version.
- `429`: `rate_limited` (retry): Too many requests from this network. Try again later.
- `503`: `internal` (do not retry): Opt-out requests are not available on this server yet.
