# Get a free API key

`POST /v1/keys`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.recallsapi.com`
- URL: `https://api.recallsapi.com/v1/keys`
- Auth: none required

Creates a Free account and sends its key to the email address, and only there. One free account per inbox: +tags and Gmail dots count as the same inbox.

Created with the key in the response (test deployments without key email)

    - `monitored_products` integer: Across all catalogs on the account
    - `alerts` boolean

## Other responses

- `202`: Created; the key is on its way by email
- `409`: An account exists for this inbox
- `429`: Too many keys from this network or email domain today
- `503`: Signup is not available right now
