# Filter plugins by MIME type

`POST /pluginsctl/getPluginsForType`

Returns plugins matching the requested MIME type and optional plugin type.

## Query parameters

- `type` string
- `pluginType` string
- `_group` string
- `_async` boolean

## Headers

- `Prefer` 'respond-async'

## Request body

- PluginsctlGetPluginsForTypeRequest
  - `type` string — MIME type to match when listing plugins.
  - `pluginType` string — Filter results by plugin type (e.g. `test`).
  - `_group` string — Assign the request to a custom stats group.
  - `_async` boolean — Run the command asynchronously. Returns a job id immediately.

## Response `200`

Loaded plugin metadata for the requested MIME type.

  - `loadedPlugins` object, required — Installed plugins keyed by repository name.
  - `loadedTestPlugins` object, required — Installed test plugins keyed by repository name.

## Other responses

- `202` — Request accepted for async processing. Poll /job/status with the returned jobid.
- `4XX` — Any error response (HTTP 4xx/5xx)
- `5XX` — Any error response (HTTP 4xx/5xx)
