# Get all credit unions grouped by state

`GET /credit-unions`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.rateapi.dev`
- URL: `https://api.rateapi.dev/credit-unions`
- Auth: API key in header `X-API-Key`

Returns a list of all credit unions in the database, grouped by US state. Includes metadata such as number of products, last verified date, and whether rates are available.

**Authentication required**: Pass your API key in the `X-API-Key` header.

Credit unions grouped by state

- CreditUnionsResponse: The full credit-union index, grouped by state.
  - `generatedAt` string, date-time, required: ISO 8601 timestamp when this response was generated
  - `totalStates` integer, required: Total number of states with credit union data
  - `totalCreditUnions` integer, required: Total number of credit unions across all states
  - `states` StateSummary[], required: List of states with their credit unions
    - `code` string, required: 2-letter US state code (lowercase)
    - `name` string, required: Full name of the state
    - `count` integer, required: Total number of credit unions in this state
    - `verifiedLast7Days` integer, required: Number of credit unions verified in the last 7 days
    - `creditUnions` CreditUnionSummary[], required: List of credit unions in this state
      - `id` string, required: Unique identifier for the credit union
      - `name` string, required: Full name of the credit union
      - `slug` string, required: URL-friendly slug derived from the credit union name
      - `city` string, nullable: City where the credit union is headquartered
      - `url` string, uri, nullable: URL to the credit union's rates page
      - `hasRates` boolean, required: Whether this credit union has any rate data available
      - `productCount` integer, required: Number of distinct mortgage products with rate data
      - `lastVerified` string, date-time, nullable: ISO 8601 timestamp when rates were last verified
      - `members` integer, nullable: Members reported in the latest imported NCUA call report
      - `locationCount` integer, nullable: Branch locations reported in the latest imported NCUA call report

## Other responses

- `401`: Missing or invalid API key
- `429`: Rate limit exceeded
- `500`: Internal server error
