# Request an API key (email delivery)

`POST /v1/keys`

## Request

Creates (or re-sends) a free API key. The key is emailed to the address provided — the response body does not contain the key. Use `/v1/keys/instant` if you need the key in the response body (e.g. for AI agents / MCP servers / CLIs that can't read email).
