# Update payment method

`PATCH /v1/payment_methods/{payment_method_id}`

## Request

- Base URL: `https://api.sandbox.rainforestpay.com`
- URL: `https://api.sandbox.rainforestpay.com/v1/payment_methods/{payment_method_id}`
- Auth: HTTP bearer

Update supported fields on a payment method. Only fields included in the payload will be updated. Omitted fields will not be updated.

- `#/paths/~1v1~1payment_methods~1{payment_method_id}/get/parameters/1` (unresolved $ref)

## Request body

- object: The fields that can be updated on a payment method.
  - `billable_merchant_id` BillableMerchantId (unresolved $ref)
  - `billing_contact` object, nullable: Billing contact details. To remove a field, set the value to `null`.
    - `name` string, nullable: First and last name.
    - `address_line_1` AddressLine1 (unresolved $ref)
    - `address_line_2` AddressLine2 (unresolved $ref)
    - `city` City (unresolved $ref)
    - `state` State (unresolved $ref)
    - `postal_code` PostalCode (unresolved $ref)
    - `country` Country (unresolved $ref)
    - `email` string, nullable: Email address.
    - `phone` string, nullable: Phone number, including extension.
